Eating Gluten During Pregnancy Linked To Child’s Higher Type 1 Diabetes Risk

Researchers don’t know the exact cause of type 1 diabetes, but new preliminary research suggests that a mother’s eating habits during pregnancy could play a role. The study, published online in September 2018 in BMJ, found that the more gluten a woman consumed during her pregnancy, the more likely her offspring was to develop type 1 diabetes.
